Pre-match comments for the Nagoya match (Head Coach Poyatos, Fukuoka, and JEBALI)

Head Coach DANIEL POYATOS : "(In the match against Kashiwa) our offense was poor, but we still had some good chances to score, so I'm not too worried. However, one thing that worried me was how to organize quickly when the opponent comes from the front, so I've been working on that this week as well. Nagoya, who we're facing this week, presses well, and I think they're a team with big individual abilities. They have some really good players in the front positions, like Yamagishi, Nagai, and Matheus, so I think it's important to take that into consideration when we play. We knew how the opponents would press, and we prepared well for that, so I think the key now is whether we can score when we have the chance to score."

DF2 Shota FUKUOKA "In the match against Kashiwa, the opponents passed the ball around a lot and we were forced to run, and they played the kind of football that Gamba would normally like to play, so in this match against Nagoya, we want to play in the opposite position to how we played against Kashiwa. To do that, it's important not only in terms of defense, but also how long we can hold the ball. As for the DF, Nagoya has strong players such as Nagai, Asano, Junker, and Matthäus in the front line, so we want to win by strengthening our defense as a team while helping each other out as well as fighting individually. Personally, Nagoya has a player named (Sato) Yodai, so I don't want to lose to him either. I played with him for about two years at Gamba, so I know his strengths and weaknesses, such as set plays, and I want to prevent him from doing so."

FW11 ISSAM JEBALI "There was no match on Wednesday this week, so I think I've been able to prepare as best I can for this match against Nagoya over a reasonable period of time, and I want to give it 100%. Nagoya is a team that is aggressive from the front, so I think they'll come at us from quite a distance, so we need to turn the game around and take advantage of the space they have, and I definitely need to work on exploiting the space behind them. As a FW, my role is to use all my strength to score goals, but in the previous match against Kashiwa, I had many chances but I couldn't put the ball in the net. I feel responsible for that, but as a striker, I still have the responsibility to score goals, and I'll keep on honing my skills."
