Head Coach comments after the match
Head Coach Poyatos: "First of all, I would like to take this opportunity to express my utmost respect to Mr. Noro's family, as I have already said on DAZN. I truly pray for his soul to rest in peace. As for the game, I think it was a good game overall. In the first half, the game often stopped like that, so it was difficult for us to get into a rhythm, and I think the first goal that was cancelled was also a very questionable goal. In the second half, we started well and were able to make it 3-1, but we had to make it 4-1 to avoid the situation that unfolded like that, and when Peixoto came in, we were pushed back like that, and that's why they scored the equalizer. In that situation, I think we were able to show the same spirit, fighting spirit, and never give up that we were able to show in the EMPEROR'S CUP."
Q: "VAR was called in twice in the first half, and there were a lot of fouls and the game was stopped, so I think it was hard to get the rhythm going. What kind of instructions did Head Coach Poyatos give?"
Head Coach Poyatos said, "What I told my team was to keep moving the ball. I told them to keep moving the ball and to keep possession of the ball for as long as possible. I knew that the players on the wings would get tired and drop off, and I think that's why the game unfolded as we expected."
Q: "You prepared JEBALI before you were within one point of the opponent, and then you were caught up. I thought you would cancel the substitution, but did you bring JEBALI in anyway, considering how to deal with the height of the opponent?"
Head Coach Poyatos: "There were two reasons. The first was, as you mentioned earlier, to keep the ball and create momentum in the front line. The aim was to stop the flow of the game by drawing fouls. As for the second reason, I wanted to use him here to show him the trust I place in him and to ask him to perform at his best."
Q: "I don't think Sakamoto was playing as well as he had up until that point, but what were your expectations and reasons for keeping him on the pitch until the end?"
Head Coach Poyatos: "He's really helping the team, and in terms of defence he's really pressing the front line, and in terms of offence he's got good space awareness and is control-oriented. He has great control over the next play, and I think he's using those characteristics to make great plays that lead to the next play every day."
