Head Coach comments after the match
Head Coach Poyatos: "It was a tough loss, and we got off to a good start against a good Urawa team, and we were able to score the opening goal, but we were able to control the game well. At the end of the first half, there was a penalty kick decision that I still don't understand, but I don't want to get too involved in that. In the second half, we had to look back at our mistakes, and there were more corner kicks that we didn't understand why they were repeated, and we conceded the third goal in the second half because we made a mistake in passing the ball to goalkeeper GK. We need to reduce those kinds of mistakes. I don't think our attitude was bad, and I think everyone was doing their best to win, but I think we need to improve on the mistakes we make and our ability to score."
Q: "Why did you choose Higashiguchi as a starter today?"
Head Coach Poyatos: "He usually does great training, and I used him in the starting lineup today with the same mindset as the other field players, and he usually shows great attitude, so I used him in the starting lineup today based on that evaluation."
Q: "I understand that you are dissatisfied with the refereeing, but it seems like the players tend to look down too much after conceding a goal. What are your thoughts on that, Head Coach Poyatos?"
Head Coach Poyatos: "With the team situation being what it is, I think it's going to be difficult, and as players are human beings, I understand that it's painful to concede a goal there, considering the team situation. On the other hand, I'm worried about our own issues, so I'm keeping a close eye on it, but it's actually difficult to train the mental aspect of it, but I want to prepare well for the next game."
Q: "At the start of the second half, Urawa brought on Ito and Okubo and put pressure on the midfield from the very beginning, but how did you counter that?"
Head Coach Poyatos: "Yes, I think it would have been better if the interior players had seen the situation and come up to receive it more, but after we brought in Shu KURATA, I think we were able to improve in that area. We were prepared to receive the counter attack after that, so I think we should think about that separately."
Q: "Thirteen games have only just finished, but you're now in last place. What are your thoughts on this ranking?"
Head Coach Poyatos: "I'm honestly worried, and I think that myself and the players are trying not to think too much about the rankings, but I think it's something that you can't help but look at, and when you see it, you feel regret and anger towards yourself. But I think that along with that anger, regret, and sadness, we absolutely need to have the strength to get out of this situation, and in order to have that, we will continue to train hard every day, and we will use this regret, sadness, and anger as fuel to endure this situation, and if we can get a win now, I think that the tide will turn, and although we haven't gotten that win yet, I think we just have to keep doing our best to get it."
