Head Coach Poyatos: "It was a very disappointing and painful defeat. However, I truly believe that the team played very well for the 90 minutes. That's what I think, excluding the result. I personally think that football is really selfish and unbalanced. The opponents scored once in the first half and once in the second half, but we created many scoring opportunities, but we couldn't score, so I think it's a disappointing and sad result. I think it's important for this team to grow with victories, but we couldn't achieve that today, so I'm really disappointed and I don't think there's anything more we can do today."

Q: "Today you made some changes, such as starting MESHINO. What was the reason for that?"
Head Coach Poyatos: "I think it can be summed up in one word: their performance in daily practice was really good. They performed at a very high level in practice, and I think they made good use of the space to make it difficult for the opposing fullbacks. This has nothing to do with what kind of player they are, or what kind of value they have, but I personally want to continue using players who perform well in daily practice."

Q: As you said in your first Head Coach, our team's performance has been good, but there have been many games in the past where we have played well but have not been able to win. Head Coach Poyatos has said that he will not change what he has been doing since losing the Osaka Derby, but have there been any changes?
Head Coach Poyatos: "I'm really disappointed and feel very bad about the fact that we lost in a match that was really good. But I want to send a message to the supporters that I want them to stay calm. The club has told me that they will change this football idea, this Gamba flow, with a solid football idea and style, and that they will not just do it for this season, but that they want to work together to create a club that will be in good condition for a long time. In that context, the players have responded to that in the last three to four months, and although there will be good and bad games, I think they are working hard to change this club and create a style. Of course, it's sad that we haven't been able to win, and I'm not satisfied with myself. But I think I've definitely grown in the last three to four months, and I think the club itself is helping me. I want to continue with this football style without changing anything. There's no doubt about that."

Q: "Today, in the midfield formation, Usami was in a slightly higher position and it looked like the three Gamba players were defending well against the opponent's midfield. If that was the case, was that your intention to start with good defense?"
Head Coach Poyatos: "By positioning ourselves in the midfield, I wanted to bring Kagawa and other midfielders closer to the center. When Cerezo plays a block, there is no space, so I told the players to move closer to the center and use their advantage on the sides, and when the ball is passed from the center to the sides, to attack the center with advantage when the center opens up. However, I think we had many scoring opportunities, but in the professional world, you have to finish it off or you'll be finished off, so I want to learn from the players that it's important to finish it off."

Q: "It seemed like Gamba was going to win the second half, but I think they were missing some substitutions. With the heat coming up, what do you think they need to do to win the second half?"
Head Coach Poyatos: "My own feeling today was that we were pushing the opponents back and forcing them to sink, so I thought that we would continue to have no space in the opponent's half. Of course, we had fresh players in mind, but in places where there was no space, I wanted to have players on the pitch who had good footwork and could make combinations. In that sense, players like JEBALI and (Usami) Takashi took on that role, and I also brought in (Kurata) Aki with the hope that they would do well. If there had been a little more space, we could have brought in players like (Suzuki) Musashi who can exploit space, but I think it was a good decision to pull the starting players."

Q: "What do Head Coach think about the opponent's goal that was scored in the second half when we were on the offensive?"
Head Coach Poyatos: "Honestly, there are some things in soccer, in football, that are hard to explain. We really have control over the game, but unfortunately, a slight misalignment leads to a one-shot goal. I wonder if this is what soccer is all about. That's why, if we don't score when we have the chance 30 or 40 times, which may sound a bit exaggerated, this is what will happen. Together with the staff and players, I want to use this as nourishment to move forward and really mature this team."
