Head Coach comments after the match
Q. I think the two goals conceded early on had an impact, but did you feel that there was any Head Coach of the team becoming complacent with those two goals?
Head Coach: "I don't think we should let our guard down, but we started the game well, and then in less than 10 minutes we were down 0-2, and with only a few chances. I think that's what's keeping us from winning games this season. We haven't conceded many easy goals recently, but it was early in the season, and I think that in our efforts to win this game, we may have become a little reluctant to play forward. In that sense, if we'd scored the third goal to make it 1-2, I think we could have changed the game a little, and we need to take a good look at the fact that we were down 0-3 at that point."
Q. After falling behind by two goals in the first half, it seemed like you were letting the opponent have the ball rather than having control of it on the side. What was your plan for catching up in the second half and attacking after you were down two goals in the first half?
Head Coach: "We didn't have much action after taking the ball to the side, and we didn't have much movement behind the ball, so I think that's why we got stuck a little bit midway through the first half. As for the second half, we needed to increase the number of actions there and activate the right side a little more, so we started by getting Takao to be more conscious of his positioning, like getting him forward a little earlier. Regarding the second half."
Q. "Since this was Susaeta's first time in the starting lineup, what were your expectations and what was the actual game like?"
Head Coach said, "As for Susaeta, he can receive the ball at his feet and can quickly find space and take action, so I told him to be conscious of running between the opposing fullback and centerback on the right side. We saw a lot of movements like that, and although I was worried that he might not be able to last the full 90 minutes due to his condition, I think he managed to hold on until the end. We can see that he has a lot of experience and that he is an individual player with high quality, so I would like to find an attacking strategy that will allow him to give back more of his strength to the team."
