We are pleased to announce that our bronze partner, "JA-OSAKACHUOKAI", has provided us with WE rice®.

WE Rice® is rice that is rich in dietary fiber and accumulates starch with a different structure than regular rice. It is called "WE Rice" after the initials of its scientific name (waxy/amylose-extender), and academic institutions have been researching the power of this rice. As JA Kita-Osaka faces the decline of Japanese agriculture, it is expanding its circle of collaborators, including Osaka Public University, and continues to take on the challenge of establishing a production area and expanding consumption.

We decided to have WE rice provided because it allows youth students to efficiently consume dietary fiber that helps them maintain healthy physical condition, and because locally produced and consumed rice contributes to regional development.
Youth athletes who have actually eaten the food have given positive feedback, saying things like "It has a nice texture and is delicious," and "It has helped me to fall asleep and have better bowel movements," and this is helping our activities.

Characteristics: WE rice is a mutant rice that was born in Kyushu and was jointly researched by JA Kita Osaka and Osaka Municipal University, and is now being cultivated. It is rich in functional ingredients such as gamma-oryzanol and dietary fiber, and is expected to improve lifestyle-related diseases through diet. 40% of the ingredients are dietary fiber, and it contains a good balance of soluble and insoluble fiber, and is expected to have an effect on intestinal activity. The ideal intake is about 35g per day, and it is recommended to mix an appropriate amount into rice dishes or Western-style sweets.
